In Feb 2018, I was invited to give a talk on my lessons about love and relationships at a leading design firm in Cambridge, MA. As I sat to put together all the thoughts I had and how to make it relevant to the audience I was speaking to, it hit me: our social systems around love are not working as well as well as we’d like and by extension, the institutions/ apps/ spaces for it are designed within the same failing parameters. In other words, love has a design problem. Which for me was a hopeful proposition: it means that we can design better for love.
This below is the slidedeck I used for the talk, which then began a fascinating conversation about how to design better for love.
